PRIZE Management Tips
- Set up a grazing or cutting/grazing rotation
- Remove all dung on a regular basis
- If you have one field, split it up into smaller paddocks
- In spring, use surplus paddocks for producing hay
- Do not have too many horses on one area
- If you over-winter outside, use only one paddock, with additional hay and concentrates until spring. This will allow your other paddocks to recover over the winter
- Reseed your winter paddock every year in spring
- Make use of a grass topper if you have one - by using regularly, it can help to maintain an overall thick sward as horses tend not to graze the small areas where they dung
